The role of GIS Senior Consultant is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for the right person to gain experience implementing GIS solutions across disciplines and through all parts of a project’s life cycle. This position is based in Epsom and would suit someone who has experience of liaising with senior project staff, managing a group of GIS staff and with the ability to see the full potential of GIS to a multi-disciplinary project environment.

Identify opportunities within the local Atkins offices and sell the benefits of GIS in a multi-disciplinary environment
Network with Atkins staff from other disciplines
Represent the UK Geospatial team and providing GIS solutions to internal Atkins disciplines and external clients
Be a key contact for GIS data capture, cartography, analysis and modelling within Atkins
Manage your own productivity
Work within a BIM project environment
Provide GIS support on projects (both internal to Atkins and externally direct with clients) to various disciplines from around Atkins
You will be either degree qualified in GIS or a related field along with substantial experience, or have extensive experience using GIS software
You will be:-
Able to explain the benefits of GIS across multiple disciplines to potential clients and generate business leads
Able to contribute GIS text to formal bids
You will have:-
Excellent presentation and communication skills
An understanding of how GIS fits within a BIM project environment
Proven experience of delivering to deadlines within pressurised environments
Experience of identifying GIS requirements within a project environment
Experience of leading a small project team of GIS consultants tasks
Experience using ArcGIS 10x and its extensions
The ability to work on your own and with the wider GIS team based in multiple locations around the UK.
The ability to attain security clearance
Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary consultancy
Experience of setting up data management practices and principles on large infrastructure projects
Experience with working and controlling a large number of evolving datasets
Hands on experience of using CAD derived data within a GIS environments
Experience of providing information management advice or solutions to multi-disciplinary projects
Experience of providing GIS support to the following disciplines: Transport, Environment, Energy, Contaminated Land and Planning
Experience working on civil engineering infrastructure projects, preferably Highways and Rail
A good understanding of FME
Experience handling data within a Projectwise or business Collaborated environment.
