Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Orlando, Tampa, or Tallahassee, Florida office as a Senior IT Project Manager.


MAJOR FUNCTIONS/ROLES

Provide leadership and management of projects within the Atkins Portfolio Office. Manage the delivery of value based IT solutions through active participation and co-ordination of cross-disciplinary teams. Through practical and pragmatic application of project management disciplines, help eliminate non-value adding bureaucracy, ensure customers are provided with timely outputs and outcomes that deliver value, and demonstrate how professional project management benefits the organization.


JOB DUTIES:

Undertake internal project management assignments to meet the specific needs of Atkins Divisions and Corporate Functions.

Coach and mentor team members and/or colleagues to adopt flexible application of their project management skills.

Promote a culture that encourages multi-skilled development of team members.

Contribute to Group Initiatives such as strategy formulation, innovation, budgeting and forecasting.

Manage cross-disciplinary teams to ensure progress and delivery of products in accordance with agreed timescales, quality, processes and procedures.

Ensure practical and pragmatic application of delivery approaches, providing an understanding and consultative approach.

Work closely with customers, aiding the development and delivery of requirements to enable accurate and clear understanding of needs and aspirations.

Negotiate resources required for project delivery teams.

Assist with the creation of business cases for projects.

Work alongside Business Analysts as part of Project Teams on IT/IS projects.

Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.





EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

B.S. or B.A in Computer Science or other IT major. This level may be achieved by practitioners with 10 years of experience since related Bachelor's degree.


SPECIAL SKILLS:

Ability to plan, prioritize and review project plans and documents, evaluate alternatives, and devise appropriate solutions while working under the pressure of multiple projects. Must have well-developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate, clearly and succinctly, at all levels from technical though to senior management and Group Executives. Ability to demonstrate extensive application of formal project management methodologies including Agile and Waterfall models, including hybrid approaches. Must have working knowledge and application of techniques including business case preparation, requirements management, planning, risk and issue management, change control, and configuration management.


PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS:

APMP certification preferred.

Travel to other Atkins offices in the US and potentially overseas is a requirement of this role
