Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our team as a Senior Landscape Architect based out of our Orlando office.

Under direction, applies full competency in conventional landscape architectural work and broad knowledge of precedents in functional area of assignment. Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of landscape architectural work in part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.


Client and Communication Skills
- High level interpersonal and communication skills
o Strong written and verbal communication skills
o Ability to facilitate or participate in Public Involvement process. Professional presentation skills.
o Excellent analytical and organizational skills

- Stakeholder facilitation skills
o Public presentation experience
o Previous experience with Survey Monkey or other outreach platform a plus

Design and Quality Skills
- Ability to develop and facilitate client vision and advance program projects to final design and installation.

- Ability to prepare planning documents, conceptual and schematic designs, construction details and construction documents for a wide variety of public and private sector projects.

- Enhanced Design Skills and desire to develop high quality Landscape Architecture on transformative multi-disciplinary design projects

- Experience with and ability to integrate large institutional QA/QC process in project delivery

- Advanced design experience with Florida Plant Materials and plant zones

- Ability to develop landscape/hardscape design elements in support of client program in a multidisciplinary collaboration format on large complex projects

- Experience with Florida ADA design requirements

- Experience developing cost estimates for large multi-disciplinary projects

Codes, Standards and Specifications
- Experience with FDOT Design Standards highly desirable

- Experience with Complete Streets design preferred

- Ability to assess, interpret and navigate development codes and requirements

- Ability to develop project specifications in CSI electronic formats preferred

Project Organization and Team Skills
- Professional business skills including positive business approach, commitment to established company standards, professional internal/external communications, and leadership through excellence

- Ability to adapt, learn and grow with the development of the Client program, Atkins organization and Landscape Architecture profession

- Ability to lead small collaborative design team in support of overall Client program

- Ability to manage and communicate project schedule, budget and team resources

Technical Skills
- Ability to apply the latest technology to assist clients visualize challenging problems and design solutions
o Advanced Microsoft Office Suites skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project is a must
o Advanced Adobe Creative Suites, Sketch-up and AutoCAD skills required
o Experience with 3D Studio MAX modeling software and Bluebeam is a plus

- Ability to lead technology development and integration for enhanced project delivery

- Ability to assist in project website and social media platforms to promote internet-based knowledge sharing for program

Previous Project Experience
- Transportation Design

- Large scale multi-disciplinary projects - theme park, corporate campus, intuitional, military, athletic facilities and private design solutions along with land development, and capital improvement projects.

Education and Licensure Requirements:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture with an accredited program. This level may be achieved by Landscape Architects with seven years experience since Bachelor's degree or six years w/Master's degree; typical incumbent has eight to ten years' experience.

- State of Florida Licensure preferred, but open to licensure in other states
