Senior Logistics Manager

We are currently seeking a self-driven and capable Senior Logistics Manager – a varied role providing logistics consultancy within our Programme Management Office (PMO). The Senior Logistics Manager will provide expert assessment of material logistics planning to ensure conformity with project demands and to overview best practice; review and lead strategic and operational processes; co-ordination and integrating logistics delivery across multiple project stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities

  • Overview and development of strategic logistics planning processes for successful project delivery and in delivering “best practice” to meet and exceed client expectations
  • Implementing the methodology to improve our client's logistics function - being focused on business, industry and functional consulting
  • Taking part in the development of our logistics offer and the methodology
  • Participating in the success of the business unit by detecting needs, building the “best solution” with the manager, training the logistics team and the clients in your expertise area
  • Reporting directly to Logistics Manager
  • Training skills & line management responsibility for Logistics Assistant

Requirements

 

Qualifications

  • Role related degree or higher (logistics, construction or engineering)

 

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 15 years’ direct logistics experience in a construction environment (contractor or consultancy or equivalent domains)
  • Experience/ knowledge in development of regional / country wide logistics strategies
  • Ability to coordinate and integrate complex logistics processes and strategies with construction and engineering professionals and specialists at all levels

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Professional Engineer or Chartered status
  • Able to demonstrate experience of large scale or complex projects and development of effective logistics strategies to meet time, cost, quality constraints and in ensuring project deliverables are continuously met
  • Familiarized with the management of the supply chain
  • Good knowledge of principles of the supply chain, waste recovery, offsite construction, demand smoothing, construction consolidation centres and reverse logistics
  • Capacity of customer relationship management and team spirit - Intellectual and geographical mobility, willing and used to work in an international environment
  • Team leader, able to manage teams of technical specialists
  • Development of logistics proposals into effective operational systems and in driving through change management in established working practices
  • Ability to develop effective communications to coordinate and integrate logistics process across a wide range of project stakeholders
  • Consulting ability
  • Rigorous, dynamic and autonomous
