We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Winnipeg Office. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will work with AtkinsRéalis Mechanical Group to provide detailed engineering and calculations for heavy industrial projects and building mechanical systems.

Your role within the team

To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Provide leadership through client development, project management, team leadership and project control consistent with experience and your qualifications.
  • Conceptual design, preparation and review of relevant documentation, providing guidance to designers and draftspersons, and preparation of final technical reports.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary design teams to ensure a timely and accurate completion of projects.
  • May be required to provide detailed design information to other project managers to allow timely and accurate completion of those projects.
  • Maintain departmental and client standards through all activities.
  • Preparation of proposals, data sheets, specifications, packages, and technical bid evaluations.

The ideal candidate

  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. Registered or are eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in the province of Manitoba.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience on heavy industrial projects and building mechanical systems.
  • Thorough understanding of standard engineering methods, technologies and computerized design techniques, as well as knowledge of the interaction with other engineering disciplines and fields of work and have an understanding of applicable regulatory requirements in North America.
  • Demonstrated detailed design, equipment specification and selection experience in at least one of the following industrial sectors will be required:  chemical plants and refineries; mines and mineral process plants. Specific detailed design experience with any of: tanks and pressure vessels; piping systems; materials handling systems; process equipment; steam systems; compressed air systems; utilities, building mechanical HVAC systems, potable water and sanitary collection systems design would be preferred.
