Atkins is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer / MEP Project Manager to join our team in Miami, Florida.

In this MEP Project Management engineering position, you will provide the necessary technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to a MEP project team to assure total quality of all engineering efforts, appropriate fee development and timely revenue recognition of project fees. In addition, you will serve as the Project Engineer for your specific discipline for the projects you manage. The successful candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer

Job Duties:

Ability to act independently with minimal direct oversight while potentially managing engineering staff

Provide planning, staffing, scheduling, and budget management on projects

In depth knowledge of general building construction specific to mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection (MEP/FP) systems is essential

Requires thorough knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards.

Ability to solve problems with new and innovative solutions. Examine field conditions as required to support development and completion of project

Ability to handle multiple complex assignments simultaneously

Attend meetings with architects, owners and building managers to discuss future and or current projects

Assist in Business Development in pursuing new work including participation in client presentations

Project management assignments at this level typically involve routine projects, characterized by changing conditions and requirements, challenging client/agency demands, or difficult project coordination.

Education & Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in field(s) of practice from an accredited Engineering program. Graduate degree desirable. Management coursework and/or MBA a plus. This level may be achieved with 8 years’ experience with a consulting engineering firm designing building engineering systems, have a thorough understanding and knowledge of the architectural and engineering industry.

Special Skills:

Possess strong oral and written communication skills and can work with Revit. Position requires good leadership and motivational skills, solid technical background, good organizational skills, attention to detail, quality control, client interaction and representation.

Professional Registrations:

Professional Registration in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
