Due to continued success in the country we are now seeking an experienced Senior Project Planner to join our already established team in Qatar.
 
The Senior Project Planner will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the project programme and contractor progress in accordance with the contract and deliverables. The Senior Project Planner will review and monitor progress of the contractors 3 week look ahead programme and report into the Resident Engineer at an agreed frequency.
 
The Senior Project Planner will also act as the interface between Contractor and our site supervision team on all project controls related matters; and working closely with other members of the site supervision team and reporting directly to the site Resident Engineer.


Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of planner(s) at the various packages of the project (where applicable)
  • Report to the Functional Project Controls Manager and the Project Resident Engineer through a balanced matrix organization
  • Be responsible for all aspects of the planning and programming of the work
  • Review, monitor and authorize the contractor’s programmers’
  • Monitor and authorize contractor’s progress and prepare relevant construction dashboards for compliance with Atkins and the Client
  • Monitor project risks, issues, resources and CPM and assist in providing solutions to Project Controls Manager and the Resident Engineer, complying with Atkins and the Client’s standards and codes
  • Attending onsite / offsite meeting as requested by the client / PMO
  • Prepare the progress reports required by the PMO and the client and any other requirements by the PMO
  • Assessment of contractor’s claims / extension of time requests associated by coordination with the quantity surveyor / commercial department
     
    The Senior Project Planner MUST possess the below minimum requirements:
     
  • A minimum qualification BSc, BEng, BA or equivalent degree from recognised university.
  • Chartered, Licensed or Professional certification from an internationally recognised governing body is an advantage
  • More than 14 years relevant post graduate experience including more than 7 years in planning of major road works, utilities and drainage projects
  • Hold a strong knowledge of the Primavera Suite of programs version P6.82
  • Experience in the Middle East region is preferred
