The Senior Product Manager will help drive the strategy, product definition, and overall delivery of the company’s expanding digital experience, across web, mobile apps, AR/VR, IOT, and other data-enabled emerging technologies.

Job Details
The purpose of the role is to create, launch and manage digital products and solutions that create value for our customers. Fulfilling the objectives of this role will drive increased operating profit and revenue performance to Atkins as well as delighting our customers.
The role drives the vision for a single product or series of products. Working with customers, users, functional leads and key business stakeholders to understand customer needs, requirements for your product area and working collaboratively with the technical teams in specifying and prioritising the backlog.


Key Deliverables/Responsibilities
Leading a cross-functional team, the Senior Product Manager will work with Atkins Digital Leadership team, to create, and own products, that delight our customers

Key activities include:
• Engaging with the Global Strategy Director to understand the market opportunity/environment to identify, or validate, the commercial opportunity
• Drive a lean start-up approach to new Ideas or features, to quickly define the business model including competitors, partners, channels, revenue sources and cost factors
• Take responsibility for developing and ensuring overall business case for products being developed and ensure sufficient business return from our investment
• Create MVPs to test commercial and technical hypotheses and assumptions in fast build-measure-learn cycles that prove customer desirability, commercial viability and technical feasibility
• Develop pricing strategies that are underpinned by a solid understanding of the projected product cost base, and ensure rigorous management of actual product costs during development and in-life
• Enforce a product vision, and collaborate with Solution Architect to create roadmap, and take ownership for managing the functional product specification and ensuring that its developed to meet that specification.
• Collaborate with Product Operations to ensure successful launch, by mobilising and directing core product development (features, functionality), operational functions (delivery, support, billing) and finance/legal
• Work with Product Marketing to position, message, and launch products or new features.
• Drive the commercial success of products with enablement, and support of, the necessary sales and partners teams so that we meet our sales targets

Experience
The Senior Product Manager must be a real “do-er” combining a hands-on approach with a keen eye for detail. Knowledge spanning digital technology, strategic and business planning, user experience design, engineering, and agile/lean software development practices. With an entrepreneurial eye to developing new opportunities and revenue streams, this position will draw upon your experience in managing priorities, timeframes, and complex relationships, bringing to life repeatable, commercially robust products.
The successful candidate has demonstrated experience in leading software product initiatives from start, developing product opportunities aligned to business and revenue goals, identifying market conditions and emerging trends, and managing multiple stakeholders and priorities.
They should have international experience, gaining commercial experience from B2B environments, SaaS, cloud-based products and be able to demonstrate their ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience of construction/ infrastructure/ engineering is a nice to have.
They should be degree educated, have commendable years’ experience and will be required to deputise for the Global Product Director as required.
They will be expected to demonstrate the following competencies and skills:
Product and Proposition – a track record of product development and in-life management, with focus on the steps required to successfully launch a client-centric, sustainable and repeatable offering
Commercial Awareness – strong understanding of the drivers that affect revenue and margin performance (sales, delivery, costs, contracts/IP and partnerships)
Analytical Skills – strong attention to detail and ability to deal with ambiguity and apply logical, structured approaches to bring clarity. Experience of user case definition, market analysis, business/lean canvas, cost/benefit analysis.
Stakeholder Management – ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders, and an aptitude for quickly developing relationships.
Communication Skills – strong communication skills, both oral and written, with ability to articulate complex ideas to a range of audiences, simply. Flexible engagement style with ability to tailor according to the situation/audience.
Team player with excellent people management skills and the ability to lead in matrixed, multi-skilled teams.
A balanced and positive attitude.
