Digital asset management is one of Atkins’ priorities for growth, and Project Managers at senior and junior levels are required to support our existing portfolio of projects and provide capacity to grow the business. The people we’re seeking to employ will enjoy contributing across a portfolio of projects and will thrive in a busy, innovative and challenging environment. Whatever your level of experience you’ll be a technically excellent project manager with the skills to identify, analyse, manage, monitor and improve stakeholder relationships in order to target and deliver mutually beneficial outcomes.
You will be happy presenting to senior clients and delivering projects across a wide range of topics and industries. Initially you will be working with road and rail clients in a range of engagements related to asset management: by providing strategic direction in defining and implementing asset management policies and using data analysis tools to develop tactical work packages. Our markets are national road and rail administrations, local authorities, and PPP organisations in the UK and overseas. The focus of the role will be project delivery, with some support activities including project bidding.
The roles can be located at either our Birmingham or London offices. Regular travel to other UK offices and occasionally overseas may be required.



Responsibilities
As a Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for:
• Co-ordinating both individual and teams of technical and engineering subject matter experts in the delivery of complex integrated projects and programmes
• Owning the delivery activities across the lifecycle from concept to in-service of the activities from both an SNCL Atkins and client perspective
• Establishing, building and maintaining relationships with key clients, suppliers, contractors & internal stakeholders
• Gaining commitment to action through consultation and consideration of impacts.
• Creatively combining formal and informal communication channels in order to achieve the desired result.
• Developing the skills and expertise of junior staff.
• Supporting project bidding activities.
• Promoting company processes and policies, and ensuring adherence to safety, welfare, quality and environmental requirements.

Requirements
• A proven track record in delivery of complex projects and programmes, including experience working within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Ability to lead a diverse team of asset management professionals and technology specialists delivering projects.
• Ability to work in a client facing environment, with good communication skills and engagement management experience.
• Well organised and confident, with enthusiasm for learning new skills and willingness to take on a variety of tasks.
• Able to establish and build relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Chartered professional status or nearing professional status with an appropriate organisation.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.

Desirable
Digital and/or asset management project delivery experience in the transport sector
Familiarity with the DMRB or Network Rail Standards.
Awareness of asset management IT systems.
Awareness of PAS55 and ISO 55000 documentation.
