Senior Project Manager / Project Manager

Due to continued success in securing projects throughout Northern Ireland, we’re looking for an exceptional Project Manager to join our highly successful team in based in Belfast. Our projects range in value from £1m to £20m+ and are with a variety of high profile blue chip clients giving our Project Managers a diverse and exciting workload.


The Project Manager will be responsible for managing a wide range of construction projects from Inception to Closure. Projects types include passenger and engineering facilities for both bus and rail sectors and will include both complex, multidisciplinary projects as well as minor works.

The following reflects typical duties and is not intended to be a comprehensive description of all tasks.

Project Management
• Define project requirements and scope and prepare Project Mandate/Brief
• Liaise with senior internal and stakeholders to assist in the preparation of detailed Statement of Need.
• Develop and maintain Project Execution Plan
• Liaise with statutory authorities’ senior officials to ensure consent approvals
• Manage design development process and technical approvals
• Support development of appropriate project Business Case (Economic Appraisal/SOC/OBC)
• Develop project budget costs and contingency (risk allowance) and manage through project life cycle.
• Develop project schedule and critical path
• Develop procurement and contracts strategy for all suppliers and contractors, manage the procurement process and ensure compliance with CPD Guidance.
• Detailed procurement strategy
• CPD procurement and contract management rules apply.
• Plan and manage contracts in accordance with Company procedures
• Chair regular Risk and Issues Workshops with senior stakeholders to develop and maintain project Risk and Issues register.
• Undertake Value Management Workshops were applicable.
• Maintain Lessons Learned Log and chair Lessons Learned Workshop.
• Maintain a detailed Quality Plan
• Manage Change Control
• Prepare monthly projects progress reports on cost, quality, schedule, health and safety, risk etc.
• Carry out Site Inspections to assure compliance with progress, quality, safety and environmental requirements
• Participate in Gateway Reviews and Post Project Evaluations

NEC Contracts
• Administration of NEC Professional Service Contracts for multi-disciplinary Integrated Design Teams and Cost Managers
• Managing the performance of the NEC Project Manager to ensure appropriate administration of the NEC ECC suite of contracts

General
• Undertake appropriate professional development training and further qualifications as required
• Represent company at meetings with internal and external bodies in relation to your areas of responsibility and to ensure that corporate policy is followed in the decision/action taken regarding the outcome of such interaction.
• Ensure that all documentation is managed in accordance with company records management requirements
• Ensure appropriate consideration is given to the organisations equality duties as well as specific commitments associated with your job role

• Project KPIs including Cost, Quality, Schedule, Health & Safety and Sustainability
• Peer / Gateway Reviews, Post Project Reviews
• Performance on key strategic projects
• Key Milestones Achieved and Milestones achieved on Time
