The role

 

We are looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager with experience of working on signalling projects to join our Project Delivery Practice delivering £ Multi-Million rail infrastructure projects. The role will include managing experienced design and delivery teams within our Transportation division and will primarily be based in the South, South East and Southwest.

 

 

The team

 

Our Project Delivery practice within our Transportation division provides support and guidance to the whole of Transportation in project management, project controls and quality and technical assurance. Project Delivery leads on our portfolio of major projects within both Strategic Rail & Highways. This includes functional leadership and standards for how we govern our projects.

 

For members of the British Armed forces who are currently in their last two years of service, we are offering the opportunity to undertake a Civilian Work Attachment (CWA) within Atkins. Requirements

 

We are seeking candidates able to demonstrate a high level of project management capability for their experience bands, who can ensure delivery to time and budget on large and complex design projects and groups of smaller projects. You will be a project manager with a proven track record in the UK infrastructure engineering sector, preferably Rail Signalling led multi-disciplinary projects and have experience of managing design and construction programmes demonstrating proven abilities to build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders. The appointed candidates will have a track record of successful delivery on a wide portfolio of projects. Experience of managing construction programmes and administering construction contracts would be advantageous. We are looking for candidates with experience of delivering high complexity Major Projects and we would welcome applications from high achievers from sectors such as Rail/Transportation, Construction, Petrochemical, Nuclear, Automotive, Defence (Command & Control) or similar with a transferrable skillset.

 

The successful applicant will possess the following attributes:

• Extensive project management experience with a proven track record in delivering highly complex engineering/construction projects in a timely and safe manner.

• Well developed leadership, communication, negotiating, influencing and inter-personal skills, with the drive and commitment to achieve project objectives.

• Commitment to provide inspirational safety leadership and ability to deliver high standards on health and safety.

• Experience leading projects under a range of Contract types.

• Proven track record in establishing and building relationships with suppliers, client/contractors and internal stakeholders.
