Senior Waste Management Consultant

Atkins is looking to recruit an Senior Waste Management Consultant to join our team in our Global Design Centre in Bangalore, India.

 

Based in the GDC, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with our infrastructure and other built asset project teams in UK throughout the project lifecycle, and in particular the design and construction phases of the UK projects.

 

This is an excellent career development opportunity for a candidate with 8-12 years’ experience, looking to progress their career to the next level through working on high profile infrastructure projects in UK. 


Qualification

  • A degree in a relevant scientific discipline, and preferably Masters. 

  • 8-12 years of experience in waste management.

 



Requirements

 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in several of the following: 

  • Providing practical construction waste and resource management advice to clients.

  • Have extensive knowledge of solid waste treatment and management systems; and

  • Project and bid management.

 

Essential Criteria  

  • Construction Waste Management Plans

  • Contaminated Land Application and Assessment

  • Contaminated land risk assessments and site investigations (Phase 1 Risk Assessments)

  • Data Analysis and Interpretation/ Data collection and modelling

  • Designing out waste and waste reduction measures

  • Desktop Studies and Data Reviews

  • Environmental Management Plans

  • GIS (ArcMap/ MapInfo)

  • Green cities

  • Materials Management Plans (MMPs)

  • Site Waste Management Plans - Delivery of concept, schematic and detailed design reports

  • Waste Strategy – International

  • Waste Characterisation

  • Waste Classification (WM3 Guidance)

  • Waste infrastructure design

  • Waste management in developing countries

  • Waste reduction and recycling in developments

  • Waste Strategy development and Infrastructure Design and Feasibility

  • Waste to energy

  • Waste treatment technologies

  • Waste Characterisation and fuel supply analysis

  • Waste, Carbon and Energy modelling

  • Carbon Management, carbon foot printing and low carbon design

  • Environmental Permitting (in relation to waste); and

  • Supporting in business development.

  • knowledge of UK and EU waste regulations

 

The individual

 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate evidence of:

 

  • Ability to show initiative, with a confident, professional “Can Do” approach;

  • Strong report writing, verbal and presentation skills;

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically;

  • Have an interest in and understanding of broader environmental and sustainability issues;
