Our Transformation and Delivery practice services key accounts across Central and Local Government, Public Services, Regulated Industries, Blue Light Services and the Private Sector. Within our wider Business and Digital Consulting practice, we have a specialist Consulting team providing management consultancy and client-side consulting, with a primary focus on programme and project delivery, digital transformation, strategy development, business change management and implementation.

We are looking to recruit Technical Consultants based in our Bristol and Cheltenham Offices.

As a Technical Consultant, you will provide support to winning work and help clients:

• Identify and understand their key business challenges
• Develop their vision and business objectives,
• Capture business needs and requirements
• Identify and design appropriate business and/or technical solutions
• Construct cost effective business cases, strategies and plans
• Identify and manage delivery risk, by helping to remove blockers, providing options and maximising value
• Provide technical advisory support and leadership

Candidate Requirements

As an Atkins Technical Consultant, you are an effective communicator with strong people skills, able to quickly build credibility and robust working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
You have strong consulting skills, and ideally come with a variety of techniques and methods to understand, communicate and solve technical problems and design and deliver appropriate solutions that realise the outcomes our clients’ need.

While you may have a particular leaning towards one or more of the following disciplines you will be a generalist with a good appreciation of the other disciplines and you will have an innate ability to quickly identify, learn, adapt and apply techniques to respond to clients’ specific needs:

Strategy – Helping clients formulate their digital vision and working with them to develop, communicate and deliver a strategy to realise it.

Enterprise Systems Engineering - Using Systems Thinking and Systems Engineering methods for Enterprise level problem solving and design.

Enterprise Architecture – Creating, communicating and continually improving a framework within which clients can realise their business strategy. Providing architectural assurance and support through transformation.

Business Analysis – Enabling change, by understanding existing business norms, identifying and capturing needs and recommending technical solutions that deliver value to clients and their key stakeholders.

Technical Project Management – Applying programmatical techniques to shape, plan and successfully deliver complex projects.

You are required to be flexible in terms of work location and travel. If deployed at client site you should be geographically mobile and be prepared to work on-site anywhere in the UK.

Security
This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.
