SNC-Lavalin Atkins business seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our team in Charlotte, NC as a Senior Technical Coordinator – Asset Management.


MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

Lead and coordinate inspections of government buildings to document and gather information regarding preventive maintenance for critical building systems and components. The process starts with compiling the property data to identify components and their key life cycle attributes such as the age and material. From this inventory, inspections are performed on various components, mechanical, electrical, architectural, etc. to verify their condition. This provides a comprehensive picture of the overall inventory and condition of building assets.


JOB DUTIES
  • Under direction, performs several of the following duties, depending on the program/project and in accordance with established standards and applicable regulatory policies.
  • Depending on service supported, typical duties may include the following:
  • May assist in production coordination, and/or in the planning, organization and documentation of projects.
  • May oversee and coordinate project work; interpret plans & schedules to anticipate conflicts, coordinate and conduct meetings with affected parties, and oversee inspection and documentation of project work.
  • May assist in the preparation of contracts, fee proposals, scopes of work, and invoices.
  • May prepare specifications for projects.
  • May assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and related marketing material and publications.
  • May assist in the coordination and tracking of project submittals.
  • May conduct analyses and prepare technical studies and reports.
  • May review and edit reports and provide technical writing support.
  • May prepare permit applications, including engineering reports, for regulatory agency review and approval.
  • May assist with project scheduling, utilizing MS Projects and Primavera, or other applicable software.
  • May coordinate the work of consultants or other employees involved in project development activities.
  • May coordinate and oversee design production in accordance with specifications and applicable regulatory policies.
  • May provide supervision and coordination of CAD work.
  • May attend conferences and meetings with clients and regulatory agencies to ascertain requirements and assist in the development of appropriate business development strategies.
  • May perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, plus continued education through workshops, seminars, and related courses plus six years of experience in engineering or related technical professional activities, exhibiting familiarity with related computer programs and applicable permitting work.

SPECIAL SKILLS

  • Good technical writing, analytical ability, computer skills and proficient in MS Excel.

  • Strong candidate will be a proven team player as well a reliable self-starter.
  • Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to pass a background and credit check to obtain clearance to work on Federal jobsites.
  • Understanding of military chain of command and ability to work well alongside civilian and military personnel.
  • Ability to visit field sites if/when necessary, per client or management request.
  • Willingness and ability to travel upwards of 50% of time. 
  • If position requires driving a company-owned, leased or rented vehicle or own personal vehicle, incumbent must have valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company policy.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions, subject to insects, flooded terrain and equipment/traffic hazards. Must be able to process paper and electronic documents and use computer. 
  • Ability to walk long distances, climb ladders, stoop, squat and crawl down into ditches.
  • Ability to observe construction activities and distinguish colors.
  • Ability to perceive back-up alarms and other warnings.
