Senior Telecoms Engineer

The Rail Telecommunications team provides security and telecommunications systems to the railway, underground and airport sectors within the UK, with key existing opportunities with East West Rail Alliance, HS2 Engineering Design Partnership and significant other work with NRT. This is a role, based in our Birmingham office, as a Senior Telecoms Design Engineer working on one of our current UK Rail Infrastructure Projects with activities covering both Operational Telecoms and Station Information and Surveillance Systems (SISS).

The key requirements for this role include:

• Degree or Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Communications Disciplines.
• Minimum of 10 years Current / Previous UK Railway Telecoms Design Experience.
• CRE experience with significant co-ordination with other engineering disciplines.
• Production of stage work and final designs to the point of Approval for Construction.
• Holder of IRSE Telecoms Designer Licence (or working towards)

Further desired requirements of the ideal candidate include:

• A collaborative approach to all aspects of the role, both with the client and the wider telecoms team.
• Willing to travel and work at various locations within the UK
• Willing to work unsocial hours as required on an occasional basis
• Holder of IRSE Engineering Manager Licence (or working towards)
• Competence in Microstation/AutoCAD
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to produce written communication that is easily understood.

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.
