Senior Translator (KSA National)

Faithful+Gould is looking to recruit a Lead / Senior Translator to join our Programme Management Office in Riyadh, KSA. The role will involve translating documents from Arabic to English & vice versa and assisting in the production of Arabic written reports. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a high-profile project, helping to shape the future of Riyadh. The programme is motivated by the need to provide affordable housing for Saudis, but in so doing aspires to impact positively on the non-oil GDP while reducing the local unemployment rate. The primary drivers are to provide 340,000 affordable residential units to be constructed in five new townships across the Kingdom. The development of the townships will include all the physical and social infrastructure required to create great community environments. A challenging 5-year timescale has been set for achieving the programme.

Requirements

• A relevant translation qualification such Bachelor’s Degree in English / English Literature or a Diploma in Translation

• Strong written and spoken communication skills in both Arabic and English

• The proven ability to translate technical documents

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines

• Strong proven administration skills

• Strong IT skills

• Min 10 years’ experience as a Translator in a professional environment, with 5 years in a similar role leading and managing a small team

Responsibilities

• Providing technical documents accurately translated to the project team

• Maintaining and updating a glossary of English and Arabic translated technical terms, job titles and specialized terminology

• Proof reading translated documents

• Interpreting business correspondence and assisting with drafting responses

• Acting as an interpreter in meetings as and when required

• Occasionally presenting reports to clients

• Producing high quality reports as required
