Senior Transportation Engineer

Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Transportation Team in Austin, TX as a Senior Transportation Engineer.


MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

  • Responsible for preparing and managing roadway design projects for TxDOT and similar clients. Would serve as a Project Engineer, Project Manager or Task Manager, depending on projects requirements and the candidate’s experience. 


JOB DUTIES
  • Prepares and manages highway Schematic and PS&E projects.
  • Works closely with clients in delivering projects. 
  • Assists in marketing efforts. 
  • Prepares cost and manpower estimates, schedules and job budgets.
  • Is responsible for quality control, maintain quality standards in all work produced.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering.
  • This level may be achieved by Engineers with seven years of experience since B.S. or six years since M.S. 
  • Typical incumbent has ten to fourteen years of experience. 


SPECIAL SKILLS

  • Proven technical writing skills. 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent Teamwork and Leadership skills.


PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS

  • P.E. license is required.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years of work experience in highway design.
  • Extensive experience in preparing highway design and schematic projects in Texas. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microstation programs required for use in completing assignments.
