SNC-Lavalin Atkins business seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Tallahasee, FL DOT North Group as an Senior Transportation Engineer.


MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE
  • We are seeking a Senior Project Development and Environment (PD&E) and Roadway Design Engineer who can be responsible for leading the marketing, pursuit, and management of Transportation PD&E studies, roadway design studies, and general engineering services contracts. This person will have experience with the Florida PD&E manual, Florida Design Manual, and other relevant guides. This person will have exceptional management, communication, and production skills.

JOB DUTIES
  • Serve in a lead transportation engineering role for our Florida (and particularly North Florida) transportation projects.
  • Provide engineering analysis, documentation, review, and oversight. 
  • Be able to help market and pursuit new PD&E and roadway design contracts. 
  • Implement excellent teamwork and communication skills with clients and co- workers.
  • Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments. 
  • Work requires the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering. M.S. or graduate level technical coursework preferred. This level may be achieved by Engineers with seven years of experience since B.S. or 6 years since M.S. Typical incumbent has ten to fourteen years of experience.

SPECIAL SKILLS
  • Proven technical writing and communication skills. 
  • Experience with Microstation and other engineering software programs. 
  • Incumbent will be eligible for project management training.

PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS
  • P.E. license is required.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience within FDOT NEPA work preferred.
