Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Rail & Transit Engineering Group as a SharePoint Technical Coordinator. This position can sit in any one of Atkins’ offices within the United States. Preference will be to candidates who can sit in Philadelphia, PA; Chicago, IL; Boise, ID; or Seattle, WA.

MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

Provide design and technical support to various project teams for all facets of SNC-Lavalin Project Documents Management Control (PDMC) site, which is a SharePoint based system with workflow additions. Role will be technical point of contact for the project teams in all phases through the life of the projects.

JOB DUTIES

Under direction, performs several of the following duties, depending on the program/project and in accordance with established standards and applicable regulatory policies.

Become trained in all facets of SNC-Lavalin Project Documents Management Control (PDMC) administration.

Administer all Rail and Transit North American Project Documents Management Control (PDMC) sites, calling on SNC-Lavalin resources where limits of authority are reached or SNC-Lavalin can deliver more economic service.

Oversee Rail and Transit North American document Controllers including:
- Process oversight and development
- Training Assignment using SNC-Lavalin training available
- Develop and implement training specific to Rail and Transit North American Document Controllers
- Resource allocation to various sites

Identify weaknesses of current sites and make corrections as feasible.

Structure future sites to common standards of look, feel and operation.

Direct SNC-Lavalin resources in the design and implementation of future sites using AgilePoint based workflows.

May assist in production coordination, and/or in the planning, organization and documentation of projects.

May oversee and coordinate project work; interpret plans & schedules to anticipate conflicts, coordinate and conduct meetings with affected parties, and oversee inspection and documentation of project work.

May assist in the preparation of contracts, fee proposals, scopes of work, and invoices.

May prepare specifications for projects.

May assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and related marketing material and publications.

May assist in the coordination and tracking of project submittals.

May conduct analyses and prepare technical studies and reports.

May review and edit reports and provide technical writing support.

May assist with project scheduling, utilizing MS Projects and Primavera, or other applicable software.

May coordinate the work of consultants or other employees involved in project development activities.

May attend conferences and meetings with clients and regulatory agencies to ascertain requirements and assist in the development of appropriate business development strategies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in a technical field, plus continued education through workshops, seminars, and related courses plus six years of experience in engineering or related technical professional activities, exhibiting familiarity with related computer programs and applicable permitting work.

SPECIAL SKILLS

The ideal candidate will have had prior experience with the following:

Acting subject matter expert of document management systems based on SharePoint 2013, or SP 2007 and familiar with SP 2013.

Performed Document Control in SharePoint.

Worked with NinTex and/or AgilePoint workflow software in SharePoint.

Have designed and implemented workflows in either NinTex or AgilePoint.

Versatile in Microsoft Excel workbooks.

Good technical writing, analytical ability and computer skills.
