SNC-Lavalin’s Atkins business seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Tampa, FL Accounting Group as a Senior Manager Government Accounting/ Compliance.


MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

Ensures compliance with federal and state government accounting regulations. Preparation of annual incurred cost, forward pricing and provisional billing overhead rate submissions for multiple segments of the business. Develop and maintain current cost accounting disclosure statements. Support audit requests from federal and state audit agencies and/or CPA firms.


JOB DUTIES
  • Prepares annual Incurred Cost and overhead cost rate submissions.
  • Analysis of accounts for allowable/ unallowable costs.
  • Determination of allocations of home office expenses. 
  • Interfacing with external auditors/ CPA firm regarding overhead rate submissions.
  • Analyze budget information and develop forward pricing / provisional overhead rates.
  • Prepares revisions and changes to segment Disclosure Statements.
  • Monitoring compliance with cost accounting practices of the company.
  • Ensure disclosure statements are updated timely and appropriately.
  • Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. 
  • MBA or Master's in Accounting preferred. 
  • Minimum of ten years experience in federal and / or state government accounting, and minimum two years supervisory experience.


SPECIAL SKILLS
  • Position requires strong technical accounting skills, and strong understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations, Cost Accounting Standards, GAAP, and AASHTO accounting guidelines. 
  • Experience with Oracle Financial Applications preferred. 
  • Requires strong PC skills and ability to work in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Requires ability to deal effectively and harmoniously with people at all levels of the organization and to represent the firm professionally. Requires excellent interpersonal and organizational skill.


PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS
  • None required, but CPA is preferred.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • The ideal candidate would have 10-15 years of experience in the federal and state government accounting environment, with 5 years of supervisory and/or managerial experience preferred.
