SNC-Lavalin Atkins business seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Orlando, FL Transportation Planning team as a Senior Transportation Planner.

MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

Under general direction, provides technical expertise to diverse planning projects throughout the assigned area of responsibility and/or company-wide. May function as lead planner or technical consultant. Work may involve land utilization, urban planning, transportation or environmental projects.

JOB DUTIES

Work involves planning and developing planning projects concerned with unique or controversial problems which have an important effect on major company programs.
Will function as lead planner or technical lead on projects and assignments with client such as the Florida Department of Transportation, regional transportation planning agencies and local governments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning or related field. Master's or graduate level technical coursework preferred.
This level may be achieved by Planners with ten years experience since Bachelor's or nine years since Master's.
Typical incumbent has 12-15 years experience. Some public agency experience desirable.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Strong technical writing and communication skills are expected at this level, proven through technical presentations, technical papers and/or participation in technical committees. May be eligible for project management training.

PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS

AICP Certification desired.
