We are currently seeking a Structural and Fuel Channel Analyst/Engineer who specializes in Mechanical Design Analysis, providing technical and operational leadership, having superior client relations skills and a proven ability to deliver major assignments.

Your role within the team

• Design analysis of CANDU reactor components, systems, and structures including mechanical equipment.
• Lead a team to complete the design analysis of CANDU reactor components, systems, and structures including Mechanical equipment.
• Engineering calculations to support design nuclear pressure boundary components. Preparation of formal technical reports.
• Review of design documents, calculations, and analysis reports.
• Execute engineering activities within budget and schedule.
• Provide accurate reporting of engineering work to technical and project managers.
• Provide prompt response and engineering resolutions on any critical engineering-related matters.
• Perform engineering work following AtkinsRéalis/CANDU Energy Quality Assurance programs and applicable codes, standards, and regulation requirements.
• Coordinate and interface with the client, suppliers, stakeholders, and other design disciplines or departments to execute assigned engineering work.

The ideal candidate 

• A bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from a university of recognized standing.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
• At least 5 – 10 years of related work experience in the field of design and evaluation of complex mechanical systems or equipment (Working knowledge of the CANDU design, and fuel channel and Calandria Vessel design is preferred).
• Experienced in the interpretation of GD&T.
• Experience in classical stress calculation.
• Experience in finite element analysis using ANSYS/LS-DYNA/ABAQUS.
• Familiarity with ASME Section III pressure boundary design and CSA N285.0.
• Note: This position is for candidates from Levels 2 to 4; the successful candidate will be assigned a level depending on their level of qualification.
