Our Aerospace, Defence & Technology (ADS&T) business delivers client side consulting, with a primary focus on programme and project delivery, technology enabled transformation, strategy development, business change management and implementation.
We have a number of exciting opportunities arising over the coming months across a range of business and technology themes which require enthusiastic methodical, adaptable and innovative individuals. We are looking for dynamic and motivated Systems Architecture and Integration Consultants with experience of ICT systems design & delivery across various parts of the lifecycle to join our rapidly growing team working with our Security & Intelligence clients.
Our Security and Intelligence account is a successful and rapidly growing part of our business, which has enjoyed significant expansion over the last two years in terms of footprint and capability. You will be part of a high performing consulting community, working alongside top-tier consultants and delivering high quality work for our clients.
You will work on interesting and challenging client projects which could be as part of a single or multi-disciplinary team, often in a mixed stakeholder environment alongside clients and members of other organisations. Due to the sensitive nature of the work you will predominantly be based on client site.
The role could be required for any or all parts of the lifecycle, where you will be responsible for the production of deliverables including business and technical requirements, architectures and plans as needed, managing key stakeholders and providing technical advice to help the client achieve their outcomes.
Atkins has key accounts across Central and Local Government, Defence, Aerospace and regulated industries including infrastructure and transportation within the Private Sector, providing the successful candidate a unique and varied environment to grow and expand their career.
You will have:
•An Information & Technology background with relevant experience in a technical and/or consulting environment
•Experience of information systems design and delivery, applying Systems Engineering and architecture development methods and tools appropriately;
•An understanding of a range of architecture and engineering approaches, the factors involved in choosing the right approach and when and how they might be tailored;
•An understanding of System Lifecycle Management including Concept through to Sourcing, Design, Build, Test, Deployment and Disposal Management.
•Demonstrable experience in Requirements Definition and Management
•Experience of System Development Testing Strategies, including management of full test & release lifecycles
•A solid understanding of how the execution of Systems Engineering and Architecture activities relate to programme/project management and Business Change
•A strong interest and appreciation of technology trends and government IT strategy, such as, Cloud, Internet of Things, Cyber Security, Big Data and/or Digital Services
•A high level of self-initiation, organisation and enthusiasm;
•An ability to influence and communicate effectively
•An ability to communicate complex concepts in compelling ways
•Good general consulting skills (structured thinking, effective report writing and presentations, and strong stakeholder engagement).
•A good first degree in a science, computing or engineering subject.
The following requirements are also desirable:
•Experience working with Central Government, particularly in the Security and Intelligence agencies is very desirable
•Knowledge and experience of business analysis
•Knowledge of IT Service Management Frameworks (E.g ITIL)
•Experience working in other business sectors such as Local Government; Regulated Industry (Utilities & Transportation); Private sector).
•Knowledge of EASE and MODAF systems engineering frameworks
•Experience of the design and development of mixed technology systems
Successful Candidates will be required to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance and offers of employment will be subject to this being granted.
