Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Tampa, FL Corporate Tax Group as a Tax Manager.
MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE:
This position’s purpose is to ensure the Company’s federal, state and international tax compliance requirements are timely and accurately discharged, provide coordination of income tax audits, and provide tax research and planning services as requested by the Tax Director.
JOB DUTIES:

Manage the compliance function including preparation of federal, state, provincial, U.S. and foreign company income, excise and information tax returns.

Responsible for the quarterly and annual income tax provision, including deferred tax calculations, for the U.S. consolidated group and certain foreign affiliates. Perform tax research in order to document tax positions taken and associated financial statement impact.

Maintain a coordinated line of communication with commercial business and key finance company personnel in providing advice and guidance on the tax impacts of proposed projects and business transactions.

Work with Treasury department on tax impacts of cross border cash flows and other financing arrangements.

Coordinate and support federal, state, and foreign income tax audits and provide research and responses to issues raised by auditors.

Provide research and planning support for federal, state, and international tax issues.

Perform due diligence on proposed U.S. acquisitions and assist in M&A activity as required.

Coordinate tax aspects of purchase accounting on new acquisitions with Controller group.

Provide research and planning support for employment tax issues.

Responsible for the review of sales, use, gross receipts, and other indirect taxes in the U.S. and foreign jurisdictions.

Coaches and mentors staff members, identifies training needs and creates development plans.

Performs such other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
B.S. in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Taxation or Accounting with Tax Emphasis. Minimum four years of tax experience with a combination of a National Public Accounting firm and/or Multinational corporate tax department.
Must have advanced level of technical expertise in accounting for income taxes, U.S. federal and state taxation of corporations. An understanding of partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, and international operations preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Proficiency in tax software applications, including OneSource and Microsoft applications. Must be detail oriented, with ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Ability to provide training, supervision and performance management to assigned personnel. Highly organized and self-motivated.
PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS:
CPA designation is required.
