The Atkins Middle East strategy for the 2020 property market is focused on winning work through establishing unique and strong client relationships. The role of the Technical Bid Coordinator is to work with technical leads/client directors/bid managers and their teams to understand client requirements and lead the technical solution creation in order to contribute to a winning offer.

They are involved in the end-to-end Win Work process. The Technical Bid Coordinator provides consistency in technical approach, facilitates delivery approach and strategy and owns the technical writing and coordination; as well as being responsible for sharing lessons learnt and enabling continuous improvement in our process and bidding efforts.

Key objectives, to be achieved in collaboration with the Win-Work Team;

  • Ensure the consistency of our technical approach to creating a winning solution that meets the client’s needs.
  • Contribute and be part of the wider bid process with the Win Work team to create a winning proposal.
  • Lead and facilitate delivery strategy / technical approach workshops with technical teams. 
  • Provides a key communications interface between divisions, geographies, technical specialists and partners.
  • Manages and owns technical bid documentation.
  • Ensure the bid program is met and milestones / deadlines are achieved for technical input.
  • Input into corporate governance where required. 
  • Identify and share lessons learned as inputs to the continuous improvement of the WW process and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

  • Reads and analyses RFPs and creates a one-page project brief for the bid team.
  • Creates, owns and updates a scope matrix that identifies ownership and responsibilities for internal teams and sub-consultants.
  • Co-ordinates sub-consultants input and works with technical teams to validate. 
  • Works with the Financial Bid Coordinator to review sub-consultants inputs and validate.   
  • Leads and facilitates the delivery strategy / technical workshops with technical teams. 
  • Coordinates with GDC where required. 
  • Executes technical writing and works with technical teams to review.
  • Authors storyboards when required. 
  • Writes, critically reviews text, and edits to improve clarity and impact. 
  • Coordinates the organisation chart. 
  • Coordinates clarifications with the bid team and responses from the client, reviewing and disseminating client responses. 
  • Support Pre-qualifications where required.   
  • Supports with project profiles and CVs when required, working with the Bid Coordinator to review technical content. 
  • Input into the corporate governance process. 
  • Participates in the kick-off, storyboard and review workshops based on the WW process and works to the programme timelines.
  • Provides a key communications interface between divisions, geographies, technical specialists and partners.

Decision Making Authority:

  • No GAM authority is associated with this position.
  • Communications and Working Relationships
  • The Technical Bid Coordinator reports directly to the Work Winning Lead and works with the Graphic Designer, Bid Coordinator, technical and PM teams on a daily basis.

  • Education level Degree or equivalent, preferably in Architecture or technical discipline.
  • Minimum required level of previous experience of 5 years’ experience, preferably within a bidding environment. 
  • Excellent writing skills. 
  • People leadership, facilitation, motivation and communication skills.
  • Logical and structured approach, strong organisational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and work to strict deadlines.
  • Quickly able to grasp overall client hot buttons / requirements and apply technical skills to create a winning solution.
  • Commercial acumen.
  • Advanced skills in Word and Adobe Acrobat InDesign an advantage. 
  • Previous role with a global organisation in professional services would be an advantage
