SNC-Lavalin Atkins business seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Bartow, Florida Geomatics Group a Title Examiner

MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

Provides project-related analysis and review support to Technical Manager(s).

JOB DUTIES

Maintains subconsultant database; verifies all invoices from subs before processing by accounts payable. Coordinates with subconsultants as needed.
Assists in maintaining database of minority and small business firms in support of subcontracting plans.
Reviews contracts to ensure they are completed in compliance with company policy. Ensures invoices are in compliance with contracts.
Ensures that contract and billing files are maintained according to standards. Develops client analyses and reports as needed.
Prepares and maintains appropriate spreadsheets for billing and project analysis. Researches contracts, plans and regulatory agency manuals to determine and analyze specifications and requirements.
Reviews contract progress reports. Maintains logs and reports.
Assists in the preparation of contracts, work authorizations and supplemental agreements.
Assists project manager in the initiation, opening and closing of project numbers in accounting system.
May perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in Business or related discipline with six years of business experience. Without a degree, this is typically reached through a minimum of twelve years experience in relevant analytical and/or project administrative work.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Strong interpersonal skills; good public speaking ability; strong project financial management skills; knowledge of production support systems and personal computer proficiency

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Provides title research and title examination as required for all land acquisition needs during the survey and mapping phase, acquisition phase, and eminent domain process on survey and mapping projects providing expertise when needed. Assists with the procurement of title evidence, agreements, or options to sell, providing expertise as needed.
Prepare title acquisition documents, making independent decision as to the type of documents and/or level of subordinate interest releases required. Provide technical expertise to document preparation personnel. Assists with coordination of additional research required to resolve title boundary conflicts resulting from legal title versus occupation discrepancies, as determined from a survey.
Evaluates, reviews, and analyses complex title search reports for accuracy and compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Assembles right of way packages for delivery to Right Of Way administration which include marked right of way maps, acquisition documents, title search reports, and transmittal letters.
Reviews and composes complex real property legal description for incorporation into instruments of conveyance for required right of way parcels ensuring the needed right of way in completely and accurately described in a manner consistent with acceptable surveying practice. Checks that all easement identified in the title search reports that lie within take areas are properly depicted on the right of way map.
