SNC-Lavalin Atkins Business seeks an energetic, highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter to join our Atlanta, GA team as a (TOC) Traffic Assistant Trainer.

MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

Supports Traffic Operations Center (TOC) training, certification and skills coaching. Supports development and maintenance of training procedures, certification procedures, SOPs, certification management, TOC outreach event planning and logistics, and related client service (employee support).

Maintains thorough domain knowledge of all TOC functions including maintaining the ability to perform in all operations floor duties as needed. Works with Leadership team to help drive process improvements, standards, methods tools and competencies across the Traffic Operations Center.

Must be flexible to work on all three shifts but basic hours are between 6am and 7:30 pm.

JOB DUTIES
  • Conducts training classes for traffic operations staff as appropriate. 
  • Supports all review, certification and re-certification procedures and provides feedback as directed.
  • Supports on floor training, coaching and mentoring for operations staff as directed.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of all training procedures. the development and maintenance of all certification procedures. 
  • Supports the development and maintenance of all standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • As directed, communicates with client managers, project manager and shift supervisors to provide status updates, ascertain needs and provide solution to any issues. 
  • Actively reviews operational activity for accuracy and appropriateness, provides guidance and feedback to staff as appropriate.
  • Works within operations to determine individual training needs. Assists in maintenance of all training and certification records. Coordinates with other agencies as appropriate.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge and active capability to perform all TOC operations tasks and use all tools as required.
  • May fill in as a TOC Operator when staffing levels are low or during extreme weather or special events. May fill in as POC (Point of Contact) as needed.
  • Performs special assignments as it relates to traffic operations, traveler information, and incident management.
  • Collaborates with the TOC Trainer to look at new approaches in adult learning, with an emphasis on increasing retention while enhancing their careers.
  • Provides ongoing support and implementation of the CREST (Control Room, Education, Support and Training) program.
  • Performs other such duties as the client may from time to time deem necessary.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Preferred Education and Experience: 2-year or 4-year degree plus two years of relevant business experience, including training and program implementation in a corporate setting.
  • Must be proficient with computer skills.
  • Must be proficient in business writing. Must be experienced in Microsoft PowerPoint and learning and development software.
  • Minimum Education and Experience: High school diploma (or equivalent) plus five years of relevant business experience is required, including two years of experience in a Traffic Operations Center and/or in training and program implementation in a corporate setting and/or in direct training experience. 
  • Must be proficient with computer skills.

SPECIAL SKILLS
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required. 
  • Must have excellent presentation skills and ability to use Microsoft Power Point. 
  • Must have good command of the English language. 
  • Must have ability to perform in a professional, courteous manner and remain friendly while under pressure. 
  • Must have an aptitude for geography and maps. 
  • Knowledge of a Learning Management System and other software such as captivate, articulate, flash, Microsoft publisher is preferred. 
  • Must have facilitation, time management and multi-tasking skill.

  • Member of ASTD preferred
