Atkins Infrastructure team works with water companies in the UK and overseas, supporting their capital and operational projects and programs. We provide innovative solutions for the analysis and rehabilitation of drainage systems to prevent flooding / pollution and water distribution systems to ensure a reliable supply. Our staff are typically engineers or geographers and provide technically complex and innovative solutions to deliver benefits and optimize solutions.
An expanding workload means that we now need to take a Technician in Derby to support the delivery of a wide range of projects in the UK. The role will involve supporting the existing team on a variety of computer hydraulic modelling, GIS and data analysis work. Whilst technical experience is not necessarily required, the applicant should be confident, literate and numerate with an interest in Geographical Information Systems. Experience of Microsoft Word and Excel is essential. Knowledge of Infoworks, Synergi Water, MapInfo or similar computer packages would be beneficial.
The role will involve supporting the existing team on a variety of computer hydraulic modelling, GIS and data analysis work. This is a varied role that would include working in an Atkins and Clients’ office but could also involve work on site completing data collection activities.
-Minimum of 5 No GCSE Grade C passes (or equivalent) including English, Mathematics and Science.
