Training Consultant

We require Training Consultants, to support our wide range of clients on a diverse range of civil, defence and Middle East projects covering all aspects of the Air, Land, Maritime and C4ISTAR sectors. Based at Atkins' offices in Bristol, work is likely to involve working on client sites in the locality of our offices, and with some travel requiring overnight stays.

Atkins has the largest UK consultant capability in the Defence market. The Defence Systems business is a progressive and rapidly expanding part of Atkins. We plan, design and enable complex defence programmes. We successfully deliver independent programme management and high-end systems engineering services to the MoD and Defence industry.

Responsibilities
We have a wide and exciting range of projects and programmes defining the future training requirements for cutting edge programmes from Remotely Piloted Systems, Engineering Frameworks, applying civil best practice to military environments to the world of Offshore Energy. Your key responsibilities will include the following:

• Provide Training Consultancy to a wide range of projects/programmes throughout the ADS&T domains.
• Conducted Training Needs Analyses,
• Conduct Training Design and Development Activities,
• Conduct Instructor/Trainer Development, Monitoring and Assessment.
• Support bidding and proposal activities

Requirements for senior training consultant

Essential
• Proven experience of working with major defence contractors, DES, MoD Centre and Military customers.
• Technical expertise in planning, conducting and delivering all aspects of Training Needs Analysis.
• Technical expertise in Training Design including the development and delivery of DSAT compliant training documentation
• Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills
• Working in multi-discipline teams and dealing with multiple stakeholders and clients.
• Proven workshop facilitation skills

Desirable
• Knowledge of military structures and tactics.
• Technical assurance of sub-contractors products/deliverables
• Project Management
• Instructional Design
• Experience of developing and applying Training Support processes and relevant ISO and Defence Standards (JSP 822).

Requirements for junior training consultant

Essential
• Proven experience of working within a training disciplines e.g. Training Analysis, Training Design, Evaluation, Coaching & Mentoring
• Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills
• Working in multi-discipline teams and dealing with multiple stakeholders and clients.
• Support to technical workshops and meetings

Desirable
• Experience of working with major defence contractors, DES, MoD Centre and Military customers.
• Technical expertise in planning, conducting and delivering Training Needs Analysis.
• Technical expertise in Training Design including the development and delivery of DSAT compliant training documentation
• Knowledge of military structures and tactics.
• Running technical workshops and meetings

Security
This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.
