Job Summary:
Atkins is seeking a Microsoft Unified Communications Engineer to join our UC Operations team part of the Global Network Operations Centre (NOC). NOC comprises of teams supporting UC Operations, Network Operations, Network Security Operations and Infrastructure Operations. Successful candidates should have the knowledge and skills required for installing, managing and supporting Office365. 

Job Details (Required Skills):
  • 6 or more years of experience with deploying, administration, troubleshooting and operational support of the following:
    • Office 365 (Skype for Business online, SharePoint Online), including Enterprise Voice
    • SBC’s (Session Border Controllers)
    • Lync SBA’s (Survivable Branch Appliance)
  • Very strong knowledge of O365 primarily in Skype for Business Online, Active Directory, DNS, and networking
  • Proficient with SIP & other network protocols/services and network infrastructures experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Lync Room Systems or other video conferencing systems
  • Skype for Business online integration with 3rd Party Products
  • Experience with monitoring platforms preferably SolarWinds
  • Strong Oral and Written communications skills - English
  • Ability to develop professional technical documentation and meet SLA’s to drive efficiency of operations.
  • One or more of the following certifications:
    • Microsoft MCP
    • Microsoft MCSE: Communications
  • Experience in managing a ticket queue, working on multiple issues at once, while providing regular updates to customers and co-workers
  • Ability to analyse and effectively respond to the UC related incidents and requests
  • Strong troubleshooting/problem solving skills
  • A strong focus on attention to detail and excellence of delivery
  • Ability to follow documented procedures, ensuring compliance and change control procedures
  • Ability to support multiple Lync and Skype for Business pools spread across all key regions.
  • Use monitoring tools proactively to address capacity, performance and service availability issues.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and escalation processes.
  • Participate in 24 x 7 call-out rota as required.
In addition, one or more of the following will be added advantage:
  • Experience of Sonus SBCs
  • Experience in SharePoint 2010/2013 Administration, migration, and troubleshooting
