Atkins Acuity is looking to source a highly experienced management consultant (economic / financial) advisor to be based in Riyadh, KSA, who will be responsible for establishing, driving and developing our Atkins Acuity business in the Middle East. All candidates are expected to demonstrate prior experience in business development, project management, stakeholder management and economic and financial analysis.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

Winning Work

  • Develop, lead and manage sales opportunities, across the whole lifecycle
  • Develop and drive Atkins Acuity Pipeline and go to market strategy
  • Manage, drive and influence large scale multi-disciplinary bids
  • Possess and showcase an in-depth understanding and knowledge

 

Delivering Work

  • Project manage and deliver large scale complex, multi-disciplined client assignments and delivery teams
  • Establish relationships with clients and build recognition as a trusted partner and advisor

 

Service Line Development

  • Undertake Atkins Acuity value proposition development
  • Promote and showcase our Atkins Acuity capability to clients
  • Work with main core partners to identify joint propositions

 

People Development

Support, guide, coach and develop a team of junior/senior management consultants

Supports recruiting by providing qualified candidate leads and helping to sell Acuity, and supports on-boarding efforts

Basic Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of experience in economic advisory, preferably with a background in urban planning or transportation.
  • Strong background in and understanding of city-wide, spatial economic development policy in the Middle East.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the relationship between economic development and land-use planning, transportation & infrastructure planning and housing.
  • Evidence of excellent applied analytical and quantitative techniques in economics. Must include extensive in experience in some of the following: city and regional economic forecasting; economic impact assessment; cost-benefit analysis; econometrics; local and regional socio-economic analysis; sector studies; economic pricing and financial mechanisms.
  • Good appreciation of macro-economics and national economic & financial policy issues.
    Informed understanding of Government and public sector role in enabling sustainable city-level economic growth, financial sustainability and urban development.
  • Ability to offer practical advice on urban economic issues related to macro-economic factors, urban infrastructure, transportation, housing related issues and the governments’ role in contributing to economic development
  • Urban strategy development experience and having to work with teams that include economics, structural planners and economics specialists
  • Experience of asset valuation (infrastructure and land) and land management models (sales, leasing, equity participation in development), regulatory enablement, revenue generation enhancement and protection. Including:
    • Use of financial and economic incentives to guide urban behavior e.g. pricing schemes, user fees and charges.
    • Financial viability of capital works proposals

  • Applies a strategic approach to problem solving, takes ownership of client deliverables and project delivery, including full execution and review of deliverables
  • Strong project management skills, including multidisciplinary teams from economic, financial or engineering backgrounds
  • Planning, including resourcing, upfront workplans and project management toolkits
  • Take ownership of client deliverables and project delivery, including full execution and review of deliverables
  • Plans and prioritizes work activities to meet the organization and client’s goals
  • Closely managing team members’ day-to-day activities as well as interaction with client and key stakeholders
  • Seeks and applies knowledge, information, and best practices from within and outside of the project
  • Help in building the Strategy delivery capability with high quality people, training and coaching
  • Develop, lead and manage sales opportunities, across the whole lifecycle
  • Design and execute analyses on clients’ problems and markets to validate key hypotheses
  • Demonstrates outstanding communication skills, verbal and written, in English; abilities in Arabic a strong asset
  • Written and visual communications are of consistently high quality
  • Relevant work experience in KSA/GCC is highly desirable
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft office applications, particularly Power Point and Excel
  • Strong business intelligence and knowledge of latest industry trends
  • Ability to work methodically and demonstrate project management skills
  • Ability to develop an understanding of the Atkins’ service lines and capabilities and identify and report cross-selling opportunities
