Atkins Nuclear Solutions US is currently seeking a Waste Management Database Administrator to join the nuclear team in Oak Ridge, TN.

Job Description

Responsible for the management of the eMWaste software and the input of container information and waste characterization data.

Assists in the development of Waste Operations-related programmatic technical/administrative plans, policies and/or procedures.  

Responsible for setting up UW accumulation areas, labeling/dating UW containers, performing routine inspections, tracking containers and start dates, and preparing Statements of Work/purchase requisitions to coordinate shipments to the recycling vendors.

Assists the Waste Management Specialist and Transportation Specialist during waste characterization activities and sample shipping.

Responsible for maintenance and storage of waste container records, characterization information, and shipping documents.

Responsible for maintaining and renewal of licenses, permits, subscriptions, and certifications to ensure shipping compliance.

Assists Transportation Specialist in the preparation and planning for the transportation of hazardous material.

Responsible for coordinating with UT-Battelle (UT-B) for the removal of property for reuse (salvage items)

Serves as Waste Operations Record Custodian maintaining record copy materials in the Waste Operations Satellite Records department and as the Chemical Management Area (CMA) Custodian.

Performs routine inspections of hazardous materials storage areas, as required.



Required Skills and Education

 

Baccalaureate in engineering or related science.

 

Minimum of 2 years job related experience, of which 1 year is nuclear.

 

Experience in performing chemical area inventories and maintaining an approved chemical inventory roster preferred.

 

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.

 

Strong communication, verbal and written skills.

 

Excellent organization skills.

US citizenship required for Atkins Global Isotek Systems project positions.
