Water Asset Management Engineer, Riyadh

Our Water Asset Management team provides asset management, regulatory, and technical, advice to a range of clients worldwide. We are looking for enthusiastic, client and solution-oriented individuals to join our Riyadh office in KSA and expand our business. Our services include:
  • Strategic Asset Management advice, including maturity assessment and gap analysis, business process engineering,
  • Assessing conformance with ISO 55000 and providing certification;
  • Assurance for Water Utilities and others
  • Regulatory advice for UK Water Utilities and others;
  • Investment Planning including development of risk-based decision-making tools and methodologies, and prioritisation
  • Utility improvement projects, performance reviews and benchmarking;
  • Master Planning and Feasibility Studies
 
He will deliver projects for water and wastewater clients in Saudi Arabia (mainly NWC and SWCC) and other ME clients as the GCC countries are currently undertaking a major restructure of their organisations.
 
The role is based in Atkins Riyadh office and will require ability to travel within KSA and the wider region.
Atkins has been established in the Gulf for over 40 years, having first carried out design and supervision commissions in the Gulf area in 1967. The regional head office (Dubai) was established in 1979.
We provide a full range of design, engineering and project management services for buildings, transportation and other infrastructure programmes.
Atkins in the Middle East now employs around 2,000 staff serving Gulf clients across all market sectors from offices in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Kuwait City, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh, and Sharjah.


Capabilities required:
 
Candidates should have a blend of technical, economic, financial, audit and project management skills to win and deliver projects:
  • Excellent client facing skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal staff and clients
  • Understanding of current market and client needs including developments in technology developments, particularly related to asset management and water regulation
  • Strong commercial awareness and a clear understanding of the requirements of engineering consultancy
  • Robust financial and programme management delivery
Education and Professional Qualifications
  • Honours degree (or equivalent) in engineering or science related subject
  • IAM Certificate or diploma preferable
  • Endorsed IAM assessor or similar preferable
  • Experience of the Middle East as well as UK Water Industry and wider International experience would be a significant advantage
  • 7 to 8-years experience minimum

  • Strong communication skills, able to explain complex matters to clients and internal stakeholders in a clear and relevant way
  • A confident, professional manner with a “Can Do” approach
  • Commercially astute
  • Ability to show initiative and examples of creativity
  • A high expectation of performance for themselves and other members of the team
  • Possess sound judgement and leadership skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within Atkins, with the supply chain and with the Client
  • A supportive and encouraging approach to mentoring less experienced members of the team
