The Water Management Consultancy team in Atkins is delivering a wide range of high-profile projects for a variety of clients. Our recent workload includes water resources planning, hydro-ecology investigations, climate change adaptation, environmental assessment, catchment studies, river restoration and environmental enhancement schemes. Following significant successes in securing forward work programmes, we have vacancy for an enthusiastic Water Management Consultant within our Peterborough team. You will be expected to work as part of a technical team, helping deliver our varied portfolio of projects in the UK and overseas.

We are seeking a candidate capable of working both independently and supporting project managers to deliver high-profile projects across the UK as required. 

The vacancy is for someone who will combine excellent technical skills with a desire to improve the water environment. The successful applicant can expect to develop towards a senior position with project management experience.


Responsibilities
The role will involve, but is not limited to: 
• Supporting the delivery of water EIA projects within our portfolio of work and collaborating with other professionals across Water Management Consultancy and the wider Atkins’ businesses.
• Helping to develop the technical capability within Water Management Consultancy and its Technical Networks.
• Maintaining excellent professional relationships with internal and external clients which will secure repeat business.

You will also be responsible for working with the rest of the Water Management Consultancy team and Atkins staff in general in advancing our technical capability to the highest standard and growing the business. This will include identifying innovative approaches and techniques and presenting technical papers, where appropriate.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate evidence of:

• Collaborative working, with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Supportive of and encouraging others. 
• Excellent analytical, report-writing and presentational skills; candidates must be able to review evidence and produce succinct, accurate and timely summaries.
• Excellent numerical skills, with experience of working with spreadsheets; experience of database analysis, water quality / water resources modelling with integrated GIS systems is desirable.
• Flexible and prepared to take on new challenges.
