Atkins Networks and Drainage team works with water companies, Water Management Agencies, Private Developers and a range of clients in the UK and overseas, supporting their capital and operational projects and programmes. We provide innovative solutions for the analysis and rehabilitation of drainage systems to prevent flooding / pollution and water distribution systems to ensure a reliable supply. Our staff are typically engineers or geographers and provide technically complex and innovative solutions to deliver benefits and optimise solutions.
An expanding workload means that we now need to recruit a
Water/Waste Water Modeller / Technician to support the delivery of a wide range of projects in the UK and the Middle East. The role will involve supporting the existing team on a variety of computer hydraulic modelling, GIS and data analysis work. Whilst technical experience is not necessarily required, the applicant should be confident, literate and numerate with an interest in Geographical Information Systems. Experience of Microsoft Word and Excel is essential. Knowledge of Infoworks or MapInfo computer packages, would be beneficial.
Responsibilities:
• Delivery of projects as part of a team as well as on individual assignments as required
• Investigation and resolution of water infrastructure issues through the development of design solutions
• Interacting with Clients and other stakeholders during face to face meetings
• Team development and engagement with digital initiatives
• Data analysis and anomaly identification
• Keen to learn and develop technically, working towards a professional qualification.
• Self-motivated and demonstrate an ability to work with others in a variety of project roles.
• Supervising/observing Contractors Working on site completing data collection activities.

Requirements:
• A knowledge and understanding of the built environment and the water sector
• Prior experience of Geographical Information Systems and MapInfo/ARC computer software desirable
• Knowledge of computer modelling using Infoworks desirable but not essential
• Knowledge of computer modelling using InfoWorks WS, InfoWater and EPANET is desirable but not essential
• GCSE Grade C passes (or equivalent) including English, Maths and Science
• Degree level qualification or equivalent in Geography, GIS, other Science related subject is desirable
• Full UK driving licence would be beneficial
