What’s your role at SNC-Lavalin?

I currently work as the Contingent Workforce Advisor for Aerospace, Defence, Science and Technology business my role supports our internal stakeholders with the end to end recruitment and attraction of all contingent workers. Along with recruiting for new positions my role also requires me to manage the existing ADS&T contingent population.

Tell us a little bit about your background.

I studied Business and Finance at University and started my career in Finance. I then moved into HR and Recruitment nearly 20 years ago. I have now been working for Atkins for 9 years in the contingent team and now work a 4 -day week to fit in with my work life balance.

What’s the best thing about your job?

I really enjoy working in our contingent team of 5 people. As a team we manage in-excess of 1500 contractors at any one time .We have great comradery as we work collaboratively, share knowledge and help one another every day with some challenging and complex contractor requirements.

What makes a good day at work?

Every day is different, varied and requires a certain level of problem solving. I really enjoy working with open minded and talented stakeholders, who work both inside and outside of Atkins.

Tell us something you like about working at SNC-Lavalin.

I have a great degree of control and freedom within my role at Atkins. I currently work part-time, the flexibility and trust at Atkins lets me work both in and out-of-the-office when required which keeps me engaged and enthusiastic. 

What would you say to someone thinking of joining SNC-Lavalin?

Atkins has an excellent culture and is an enjoyable place to work. The work life balance is very good, with great flexibility for all. The work is both challenging and enjoyable, supporting complex projects worldwide and Akins has plenty of different opportunities to get involved in.
