Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind - Chemical, Process and Safety Summer and Industrial Year Placements (2019)

What could I be doing?
We have opportunities for Summer and Industrial Year Placements across a range of our Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind teams in the UK. You could be working in one of the following teams, here’s a little about what they do;

Aberdeen - based here you’ll be focused on projects in the Oil and Gas market, as a Summer and Industrial Year Placement in as a Process/Chemical engineer you could be involved in; working with North Sea operators in supporting them in their brownfield modification projects and/or operational support work in their daily production.  This is a dynamic environment ensuring that code requirements, production efficiency and safe operations are maintained using innovative approaches to assets which, in some cases are 40 years old, operating efficiently and safely pushing your knowledge and capability to the full extent.

Epsom -  Based here as a Summer or Industrial Year Placements process/chemical engineer you would be based in the safety & RAM team. Based in our safety & RAM team you will be working on projects primarily in the Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind market.  Some of our recent project work has been in support of Oil & Gas operators in central Asia.  

Glasgow - Based in our Glasgow or Bellshill office as a Summer or Industrial Year Placement process engineer, you will find yourself working on projects in the Offshore Engineering markets. Some of our current projects include Flare & Relief Verification work for Clients in the North Sea and Asia Pacific region as well verification and design of specific plant sections on an Energy from Waste site. We’re looking for candidates who are eager to learn our simulation software as well as a keen interest in Process design, integrity of aging plants and are keen to work across the Energy sectors.

In addition to some of the responsibilities you can see above for specific locations. As a Summer and Industrial Year Placement you could also be involved in;
Supporting on some major projects across various areas of Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind, wave and tidal energy
Reviewing and developing designs to improve plants, equipment, structures and Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind related systems
Carrying out surveys and site inspections, building strong client relationships
Using a variety of engineering software packages, as well as 2D and 3D modelling for new designs and modifications
Producing safety cases, reports and documentation to support the planning, design, operation, maintenance of Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind facilities
Carrying out design and assessment for new build projects as well as additions, modifications and repairs to existing assets.
