I joined in June 2006. As one of the leading cost consultancies, Faithful+Gould offered great career prospects.
What was your first role at Faithful+Gould?
I joined as a graduate with a graduate diploma in Quantity Surveying.
How would you describe your role and responsibilities in five words?
Cost management, value engineering, estimating.
How do you describe what you do to friends and family?
I manage the costs on construction projects.
How has your career developed at Faithful+Gould?
My roles and responsibilities have grown with Faithful+Gould from initially assisting others to now running my own projects.
How were you supported through this?
Faithful+Gould has offered regular support through its performance and development review programme, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Assessment of Professional Competence programme, secondments and more recently the Management Development Programme.
How does the Management Development Programme help staff members?
It’s been developed to give promising young managers deeper business and client skills – over and above their day-to-day technical knowledge.
Do you have any professional accreditations?
I’m a probationary member of the Royal Institute of Quantity Surveyors.
What key projects have you worked on?
• Retail banking: new acquisition and refurbishments programme of works
• Tesco’s refresh programme: post contract cost management services
• Essex and Suffolk Water: pre contract quantity surveying services for an office development.
What are you currently working on?
Lloyds Banking Group. I’m working on the Lloyds and HBOS programme of works on new acquisitions, refurbishments and upgrades to retail and support premises throughout the UK.
What achievement are you most proud of?
Successfully completing the Faithful+Gould Management Development Programme.
