How does your work benefit the end user?

My role is to develop business first and foremost. I highlight services and benefits of these services within the Utility Solutions practice. The end user experiences less hassle by using our experienced team and our deliverables are consistent, clear and effective to advance projects without delay. Our entire service saves a significant amount of money early on in the project lifecycle.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

Winning work as part of large bids or providing a missing link for high value infrastructure projects gives me an adrenaline rush. As spending on infrastructure reaches record levels, more projects appear in my pipeline. This is an extremely important phase in economic development and is happening more frequently. Winning work is exciting.

What has been the most influential moment in your career?

Securing a large wind farm project in Norfolk led to significant business for my department. It also led to a sharp learning curve for myself and my colleagues in operations with the end result being cost savings for the customer and time saving for Atkins staff. It has also provided me with a spring board to win more work with major infrastructure projects in the UK. I now spearhead our large bid development process.
