We’ve designed an easy-to-follow process to find out if we’re right for each other. It will be challenging at times, so get ready to plan your time so that you can give it your all.

**COVID-19 update**
Following UK Government announcements of new measures to help tackle the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we wanted to share some further guidance on our recruitment processes here in the UK. Our priorities are ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our people and our candidates. One of the latest Government guidelines to facilitate social distancing is for people to work from home where possible. As such, for any UK early careers applications made on or after 18th March 2020 face-to-face assessment centres or interviews will no longer be possible.
We’re looking into online / virtual alternatives to enable us to complete our recruitment process but bear with us during these unprecedented times. We’ll continue to listen to feedback from our candidates and evaluate how we operate in the best interests for everyone. Find the right scheme for you
- Use our 'role finder' to learn more about which of our placement schemes are right for you. This will be available to use when the vacancies open in October – this is for roles starting the following summer.
Register your details
- So you've chosen the role, and you're ready to apply. We'll ask you to kick things off by completing a short registration process designed to gather some basic details about you.
Situational judgement test
- Our video based situational judgement test uses a series of multiple choice questions and presents you with a number of different work-based scenarios. It’s been designed as bespoke for Atkins and all of the scenarios presented are based on typical situations you may find yourself in once you join Atkins. As the name suggests it is a test, so it’s really important that you focus on your answers and take it seriously, as the outcome will determine whether you progress to the next stage of the process. You’ll only have one opportunity to do it - so take your computer somewhere quiet, go through the introduction guidelines and use the test question to give you a feel of what to expect.

- Here you’ll give us some more information about you, your experience and education. This will take a little time, so it is your opportunity to showcase yourself so make sure you capture everything you feel is relevant here. We do not accept CV's so please make sure all your information is detailed in this section.
Interview
- Interviews are usually conducted face to face, however other arrangements may be made upon request. You’ll be offered a selection of times and we’ll arrange this at a time that suits you. Here we’ll want to find out more about who you are and how you’ve learnt from your experiences to date as well as your future aspirations.
Top Tips from Our Placement Team
- Do your research....Find out everything about our programme and the sectors you’re being considered for before your interview. Make sure you meet the minimum criteria detailed on our job descriptions and note that you can apply only once during recruitment intake.
- Focus your application....Tailor the information you provide to the scheme you have chosen. Make sure your passion comes across and reference any related projects, modules you have previously been involved with in this subject.
- Take your time....Make sure you don’t rush any step in our recruitment process. You can always save your application and return to it at another time.
- Check, check and check again....Revisit your application before you submit it to make sure there are no errors and that you’ve added everything that’s required.
