We provide accurate data and forecasting for every project phase, integrating financial and project accounting systems, along with all the project controls disciplines (planning, cost, risk and change) to ensure effective performance data, including earned value analysis supporting project delivery.

Creating the baseline schedule and ongoing management of the schedule at all stages of a project. Planning is one of our core services, integrated with cost, risk and change, and scenarios planning. Planning provides the planned work progress as part of earned value management to enable timely and effective decisions to support project delivery.

Creating the baseline estimate and then controlling and managing cost at all stages of a project. Cost management is one of the core services we deliver, and its services include cost control, tender documentation, risk and value management and IT. We incorporate change management procedures into project procurement, allowing complete cost control and enabling informed, timely decisions.

Risk management enables our clients to deliver programmes of work and projects on time; whilst meeting their budget, quality and performace requirements. Our team of risk management specialists apply a range of qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques to proactively manage risks, inform decision making and deliver successful project outcome. Our multi-sector assignments expose us to different approaches and delivery models which inspire us to develop tailored solutions to further enhance project performance.

We also provide PMO services to support portfolio, programme and project delivery. Our PMO's are designed to suit our client's objectives, but all have a focus on visibility of performance using data to ensure control, and driving consistency, efficiency and delivery excellence.

We're helping to deliver Network Rail's major digital railway transformation programme across the East Coast Main Line (ECML), East Midlands and Transpennine routes to improve the passenger experience. AtkinsRéalis collaboratively support the cross-industry delivery of The East Coast Digital Programme, which includes introducing in-cab European Train Control System digital signalling and Traffic Management across the ECML route.

AtkinsRéalis' role is focused on the delivery of the integrated delivery office. This includes the integration of Programme Management Office, Programme Controls, Change Controls, Reporting, Risk Management, Planning & Scheduling, Programme Assurance and Information Management.

AtkinsRéalis has been an integral part of this journey, from supporting the development of HS2 Phase One and managing the on-site early works packages to delivering the multi-billion Main Works Civils contracts.

We provide two of HS2's largest client-side partner roles in the Commercial Delivery & Controls (CDC) and the Engineering Delivery Partner (EDP) contracts. We provide core services, including project & construction management, commercial & cost management, estimating, project controls, planning and risk management.

Hinkley Point C is the first New Nuclear plant in a generation. It will play an important part in the UK's transition to a low-carbon energy future. The site is currently in a 10-year construction period. The new 3.2GW power plant will power six million homes and provide 7% of the UK's electricity. 

Once completed, Hinkley Point C will play a major role in decarbonizing the UK's energy. The project includes key professionals from Project Controls Engineers to Project Controls Managers and risk, Estimating, Planning and Cost Engineers.

Grangemouth represents one of INEOS' largest manufacturing sites by volume of products. It is home to three businesses: INEOS FPS, INEOS O&PUK and Petroineos. AtkinsRéalis supports INEOS's transition to net zero by developing a world-scale low-carbon hydrogen plant at its site in Grangemouth. The hydrogen plant, expected to be operational by 2030, will further reduce emissions from the site by 1 million tonnes per year as the site targets net zero by 2045.

Fundamental to INEOS' Hydrogen project will be access to the Scottish Cluster carbon capture and storage (CCS) infrastructure. The CO2 from the hydrogen plant will be sent directly offshore to be permanently and safely stored in rock formations deep below the North Sea.

We are providing Risk Management Assurance for the National Highways Third Road Investment Strategy (RIS3), setting a new bar for risk management performance since our appointment in 2021. National Highways is delivering a major investment programme on England's Strategic Road Network (SRN)—some 4,500 miles of motorways and A-roads. The government sets out its strategic vision for the SRN, objectives for National Highways, and the funding it will make available for delivery in periodic road investment strategies.

Our team collaborates with National Highways and its supplier partners to develop the strongest possible business case for the Third Road Investment Strategy (RIS3), covering 2025 to 2030. The RIS3 Pipeline has led the robust development and assessment of 32 highway projects to establish the optimal mix of deliverable and affordable schemes with solid stakeholder support that delivers tangible benefits.  

The UK Government has set an ambitious target of 40GW of offshore wind capacity and enough electricity to power every home in the country by 2030, based on current electricity usage.

AtkinsRéalis are working with an exciting client to develop future offshore wind projects. We will integrate a Project Management Office, including Project Controls Engineers, Project Controls Managers, Risk, Estimating, Planning and Cost Engineers.

Sizewell C will be the second new 3.2 GW nuclear power station built in the UK, replacing fossil fuel power to avoid nearly nine million tonnes of carbon emissions yearly. Building on our experience as a key delivery partner for EDF Energy's existing nuclear fleet and Hinkley Point C in Somerset, we have supported Sizewell C since its inception in 2014. 

We have helped to identify ways to maximize replication from the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station, supporting EDF in reducing construction costs and speeding up the construction process. The team includes Project Controls Engineers, Project Controls Managers, Risk, Estimating, Planning and Cost Engineers.

The UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) carries out fusion energy research on behalf of the UK Government. Fusion has huge potential as a low-carbon energy source. It is environmentally responsible and safe, using abundant and sustainable fuel. As a strategic supplier to UKAEA, AtkinsRéalis is supporting key programmes, including the Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production (STEP) Programme, Hydrogen-3 Advanced Technology (H3AT) facility, and Joint European Torus (JET) decommissioning and repurposing programme.

STEP is an internationally significant programme intended to deliver the world's first fully-integrated prototype energy plant to prove the viability of producing net electrical output with net zero emissions. The principal mission of the programme is to lead the commercial development of fusion power and related technology and position the UK as a leader in sustainable fusion energy.

Whitetail Clean Energy is one of the first projects of its kind in the world. It is poised to become the UK's first 300 megawatts (MW) net zero Power station based on Teesside. AtkinsRéalis are working with Whitetail project proposers; US clean energy innovation firm 8 Rivers Capital, acting through its UK affiliate, Zero Degrees Whitetail Development Ltd., and Sembcorp Energy UK (SEUK), along with NET Power, LLC, to develop the UK's first net zero emissions power station at the Wilton International site on Teesside.

The proposed 300MW NET Power plant will capture and store its carbon emissions in secure geological formations deep under the North Sea. The appointment will progress Whitetail to operational as soon as 2025. The team comprises AtkinsRéalis' talented  Project Controls Engineers, Project Controls Managers, Risk, Estimating, Planning and Cost Engineers.
