We are seeking a BIM Designer- Infrastructure. This position is for the Networks team within the infrastructure vertical at Cairo.

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • To promote safe behaviour at all times.
  • To provide discipline specific design and drafting services that meet the Project’s, and applicable statutory and regulatory, requirements.
  • Experience on infrastructure design projects.
  • To provide technical support to the team during design, engineering and construction
  • Preparing LV, MV and HV cable routing Layout, Single Line Diagram, Key Line Diagram, Electrical Details engineering drawings.
  • Preparing Dry utilities catalog.
  • Knowledge Dry utilities network.
  • Preparation and checking of all types of Electrical Layout design deliverables such as General Arrangement Drawings, Mechanical Package Drawings, 3D Models in Revit , Civil 3D, Electrical or Instrument Cable layouts etc
  • Interdisciplinary check of all Civil / Structural / Piping / Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation drawings
  • Review of vendor drawings for Equipment / Package items
  • Produce 2D drawings in AutoCAD and Microstation
  • To assist in the coordination of all activities related to the discipline
  • Building related Electrical layouts such as Cabling, Earthing, Lightning, Small Power and Lighting.
  • Hazardous area classification layouts
  • Streetlight, telecom and other Utility layouts for Infrastructure projects
  • MV and LV cable routing, cable tray arrangement
  • Performing the Clash detection with other services
  • X-refs and Layers

Strong conceptualization ability, interpersonal communication and organizational skills are a must. Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills, be willing to travel, and work successfully in a customer focused, project oriented environment.

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering from reputed institute.
  • 3-5 years of relevant  professional experience.
  • Work experience on CAD software such as Revit, Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
  • Identify, interpret and apply required industry/ client/ internal standards.
  • Exposure Middle East standards.
  • Experience with 3D modelling using Revit, AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • LISP programming
  • Ability to carry out basic electrical engineering calculation.
  • To have a basic understanding of the electrical design.
  • Working knowledge of drawing control, revisions & issue protocols.
  • Ability to coordinate with design team of other disciplines for inter-disciplinary interaction.
  • Ability to co-ordinate with client & contractor for discussions and data collection as required.
  • Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the company Quality Assurance system.
  • Completion of tasks within the given time frame.
  • Prepare models and drawings in accordance with specifications, engineering best practice and Atkins BIM within the Atkins Quality System.
  • To undertake data studies and spread sheet manipulations as necessary.
  • Prepare illustrations as necessary.
  • Understanding the project imperatives (i.e. ‘output’ required) and prioritise workload (‘input’) to meet the objectives.
  • Communicating effectively with other teams in the business.
