The £120M per annum Water Business at AtkinsRéalis is made up of 3 market parts – UK Water International and Water Management Agencies.

We are looking to appoint a new Client Director to take over the duties of an existing Client Director who retires at the end of 2024 as part of a succession management plan in the Water Management Agencies business.

The Client Director will report to Simon Leek the Water Management Agencies (WMA) Director with particular focus on strengthening and growing the work for the Environment Agency. Around 90% of the WMA sub account is work delivered for the Environment Agency (EA) predominantly via the Collaborative Delivery Framework in the Southwest and other smaller frameworks and one-off projects. Over the next few years, we are looking to strengthen our role with the EA from a regional supplier to a national strategic partner via frameworks such as the Mapping and Modelling Framework which we have recently secure. Key targets will be the EA’s Technical Environment and Commercial Services Framework (expected award April 2025) and the Collaborative Delivery Framework 2 (expected award mid 2026)

The successful individual will report to Simon Leek WMA Director with a particular focus on the Environment Agency. They will work closely with him on the following activities:

  • Building relationships with the EA at both a national and area level at Director/Deputy Director and Manager level
  • Attendance when required at EA Framework Director and Framework Management Forums and other EA events like Supply Chain Conferences
  • Supporting on work winning activities – taking roles as either bid manager /author/reviewer role on major EA bids involved at all bid stages such as capture, pre-qualification, and invitation to tender.
  • Preparation of Thought Leadership pieces and presentations at key Flood and Coastal conferences in the UK and overseas.
  • Key role preparing for and representing AtkinsRéalis as part of their Gold Sponsor role at the annual Flood and Coast conference at Telford.
  • Actively building your network in the FCERM sector
  • Raising the profile of AtkinsRéalis via LinkedIn and other social media channels
  • Experience of running Profit and Loss accounts with skills in budgeting and forecasting and ability to lean into project delivery when circumstances require.
  • Build relationships with key Flood and Coast Contractors to expand our design and build capability.
  • Ability to bring added value consultancy services above those expected from core framework delivery.
