Bring your skills and expertise to our Transportation team as a Permanent Way Engineer. As part of a diverse, friendly environment, you'll develop your capabilities in exciting new areas such as automation and intelligent design. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams here and abroad, reimagining rail and making a sustainable impact on our world. From vision to reality, you'll lead and shape the projects you work on, surrounded by colleagues who want to see you succeed.

The position offers flexible hybrid working. Office days are agreed on a job-by-job basis, and the candidate can be based out of any office locations like Crewe, Manchester, or Birmingham.

Your purpose:

• Design Track alignments.
• Produce engineering solutions for track renewals, remodelling & enhancement projects.
• Undertake and support site work including inspections.
• Collaborate on some of the largest rail schemes of our generation.

What you can bring:

• Experience in Permanent Way Design.
• A working knowledge of using ClearRoute 2 software.
• Proficient in Microstation and Bentley Rail Track (BRT) design software production as well as Microsoft Word and Excel.
• An understanding of track construction methods, stageworks of projects, PWay components and surveys.
• Higher Educational Qualification or working towards preferably IEng or EngTech.
• Ability to author technical reports.
• Ability to present their work and represent their colleagues on the project in presentations and meetings.
• Site based skills such as inspections, survey and setting out.
