We are currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer who specializes in Cold and Northern geotechnics to join the Geotechnical Practice in Ontario (GTA, Kingston, or National Capital Region), providing technical and operational leadership, having superior client relations skills and a proven ability to deliver major assignments.
Your role within the Team:
- The successful applicant will be a senior Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer with a proven technical and project management track record.
- The role will include the execution of complex and major programs, supporting complex proposals, mentoring of junior staff, as well as act as technical reference, and therefore good communication skills are essential.
- The candidate will have a degree in civil engineering or geology with a post graduate qualification in a geotechnical subject and have a minimum of 15 years’ pertinent experience.
- Candidates should have the right flare and ability that will help us develop and expand our infrastructure geotechnics capability by building on the existing portfolio of our rapidly expanding, flexible and outward looking team that can tackle work across a broad spectrum of sectors.

The Ideal Candidate:
- A focused expertise on cold and northern region projects dealing with permafrost, peat land, climate change, and remote infrastructures.
- A strong academic background with a relevant degree (ideally MSc or equivalent).
- Professional Engineering License in Ontario, and ideally Quebec.
- Proven experience of acting in a senior role in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
- Project management - experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets, including relationships with clients, and work planning.
- Proven geotechnical design experience.
- Proven geohazards and geotechnical investigation experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to support the development of teams.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to peer-review and produce quality deliverables.
- A willingness to travel on short assignments both within Ontario and nationwide.
- A valid driving license.
