“I chose Atkins because I knew that it was an international company and it would be a good chance to see what the workforce would look like.”

For Malaa and the rest of our teams, working at AtkinsRéalis is about more than an internship; it’s an opportunity to build a career where there are no limits. Spread across the globe, our people get to work on some of the most exciting projects within the fields of Design and Engineering, Project Management, Consulting services and Administration.

“My line manager was with me and supported me throughout all the tasks that he has assigned me.”

We love to hear stories from our graduates. So, when we asked how Malaa was supported throughout the program, it was great to hear that her line manager was there to guide her, every step of the way. At Atkins, we understand that for our graduates to get the most out of this program, they need a mentor who is not only there to help them with assignments, but also to provide support on a personal level.

For interns like Priyonta, this support is just one of the reasons she is proud to work with the nuclear team in the UAE.

“We got to create and run a virtual career event. All of us interns took the initiative in suggesting the idea and worked to make it happen.”

There are many things you’d expect to learn through an internship with an engineering company, including theoretical, technical, and practical experience. Here, Malaa explains the one thing that she never expected to gain experience in.

“Getting over the shackles that I put on myself due to the fear of not submitting perfect work, right from the start.”

Building a career can be extremely rewarding and become a very exciting part of your life. So when we asked Malaa what exactly about her career she was most excited about, she told us that it was the chance to grow and become more confident in her work.

“The opportunities for growth, learning about new things and being able to face and overcome challenges.”

Malaa has gained a lot from her internship at AtkinsRéalis . Not only has it given her a window into the working world, but when we asked her why she’d recommend the program to others, she explained that it showed her what she was truly capable of.
