At AtkinsRéalis , and within our brands Atkins and Faithful+Gould, we’re always seeking new ways to improve the societies in which we work. At Atkins in Hong Kong, this is no different. We’re investing in the future of engineering with our graduate schemes, and we’re looking for exceptional talent to help us deliver some of the most exciting projects in Hong Kong.

If you’re open-minded and willing to learn, with a strong desire to be the best, keep reading to find out more about our graduate schemes in Hong Kong.

How can you join our engineering graduate scheme?

As we are always seeking the highest quality for both our clients and society, we do have basic criteria that all candidates must meet. If applying for our graduate schemes, you should already have, or be about to graduate in a relevant Degree in Civil/Structural/MEP Engineering.

Our engineering graduate scheme is focused on supporting you as you work towards achieving relevant engineering qualifications. We, therefore, offer an all-encompassing approach to developing the technical skills, knowledge and behaviours you’ll need to do this.

What training is provided in our graduate engineering programmes?

Through our commitment to making Atkins a great place to develop your career, we offer formal training and development schemes, including on-the-job training, and access, to the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE Scheme A), and the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE Training).

Additionally, we’ll support you to learn through Continued Professional Development (CPD), job-related training courses and seminars, and other online training for work skills, technical skills, project management skills and more.

What will you be involved in with a graduate scheme in Hong Kong?

At Atkins, we are investing in the future of engineering, bringing tomorrow’s skills, ideas and technologies to bear on the problems of today. If you join us on a graduate engineering scheme, you can expect to be involved in feasibility studies, preliminary designs, detailed designs, tender documents and assessments, construction supervision, site inspections, project management and working overseas.

You’ll also have an opportunity to be part of Atkins Young Professional (AYP), which we established to create a non-competitive environment for learning development, experience sharing and broadening network connections.

What does career progression look like in engineering?

Typically, the career progression for an engineer at Atkins begins with a graduate scheme, during which you’ll spend 2 to 3 years with the HKIE or ICE Scheme training. Following this, you’ll step up to Assistant Engineer, generally for around 3 to 4 years or upon completion of training and after this become a Professional Engineer. For those that want to continue on this career path, the next step up is becoming an Associate Director or Technical Director.
