Role
We are seeking an experienced Associate to join our Building Structures team in Atkins’ Epsom Office as part of the Infrastructure business. The successful candidate will join a team of experienced senior engineers undertaking Latent Defect Insurance (LDI)/Due Diligence work. Our LDI team is responsible for the technical auditing of many of the new iconic buildings in the City of London. Requirements
In addition to the role requirements detailed above the following is required;

• Extensive experience working as a structural engineer in the UK buildings sector;
• Chartered Engineer status (ICE or IStructE);
• Good general knowledge of building construction;
• Significant design and site experience – particularly experience in structural frames, foundations and basements;
• Excellent written communication/report writing skills;
• Proven track record of strong client liaison/relationships;
• Experience of auditing/Due Diligence/Latent Defects Insurance would be an advantage.

Responsibilities
• The role will involve frequent visits to major building sites where you will need to be able to identify non-compliance from relatively brief visual inspections
• You will need to be competent and confident at working independently
• You will need to be confident in a Client facing role in which you will be expected to continue to build excellent client relationships
• You will be writing regular client reports and will need excellent written communication/report writing skills

Rewards
Join us in this role and you can take your career so much further. We offer the opportunity to work across different disciplines, in different UK offices and even to take up international or client-based secondments. So you won’t just be helping to shape the world of tomorrow, you’ll be shaping your own future too. We’ve got a lively culture where people from a diverse range of backgrounds support and inspire each other to achieve great things. So alongside excellent rewards and benefits, you’ll enjoy being part of a team that builds strong bonds both in and out of work!

Apply and the Process
Please apply via the Atkins Careers page. For this Associate role the interview will be a two-stage process. Preference is for a face to face first interview but for candidates located further afield a telephone/Skype interview will be conducted first, followed by a second face to face interview as required.
