Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Jacksonville, FL Highway Group as a Media and Graphic Specialist for Public Information

Major Function/Role:

  • The media and graphic specialist would report to the Public Information office and will be responsible for the development of maps, informational material, graphics for the use in collateral material for construction projects and other related safety campaigns for our client.
  • Video production and collecting of video footage would also be a part of this role.


Job Duties:

  • Applies professional expertise and project management experience to manage projects and deadlines and a multifaceted client.
  • Provide graphical, video, and creative support to a public information program for transportation projects.
  • Office will be in the clients office.




Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Three or more years of professional related experience involving graphics, video production, public relations, public outreach and/or other related areas.
  • Knowledge of public relations and public involvement techniques and
  • knowledge of media relations strategies

Special Skills:



  • Job requires ability to write and oversee the design of promotional and informational materials; ability to establish effective working relationships with the media, employees, managers, citizens, appointed and elected officials
  • Ability to work in a team environment and to work independently; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to make persuasive public presentations
  • Ability to listen and respond to citizens and other customers on a variety of issues. Computer proficiency is required.
