We’re now looking to the future, working with Small Modular Reactor (SMR) developers to advance new designs and developing digital applications, such as virtual and augmented reality, for the nuclear industry.

What you’ll be doing
We have opportunities for graduates from a multitude of degree backgrounds to join our Nuclear & Power safety case teams across the UK. From an Engineering or Science background you could be working in one of the following teams, here’s a little about what they do;

Bristol – based here you be in the Nuclear Safety Analysis team or the Plant Systems and Safety Team.  As part of the Nuclear Safety Team you could work across many of the Energy markets, such as Nuclear New Build, Generation and Decommissioning. Your role could involve writing safety cases, building risk models as part of a Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) or applying your strong analytical skills to substantiate design work. You could be involved in major UK projects including new power stations, such as Hinkley Point C and Wylfa Newydd, or support the continued safe operation of our existing nuclear licensed sites. Candidates will have studied Safety, Reliability, Physics or Chemistry degrees. Additionally, candidates with Masters Degrees relating to Nuclear Science or Nuclear Engineering are encouraged to apply. Within the Plant Systems and Safety Team you could be supporting changes to the design and operation of nuclear power plant mechanical systems. Joining this team, you could be supporting clients with safety case development, hazard studies, engineering design and substantiation, remote operation development, and new build design assessments. We consider candidates with safety, chemical, physics, mechanical or Nuclear related degrees.

In addition to some of the responsibilities you can see above for specific locations - As a graduate engineer, you could also be involved in;

• Supporting on some major projects across various areas of Energy from nuclear decommissioning/new build, power generation and renewables
• Working in partnership with our clients to provide professional consultancy advice, helping them deliver their complex engineering programmes
• Carrying out surveys and site inspections
• Using a variety of engineering software packages, as well as 2D and 3D modelling for new designs and modifications
• Producing safety cases, reports and documentation to support the planning, design, operation, maintenance and decommissioning of Energy facilities
• Attending graduate networks & forums to help shape our scheme & graduate community activities

Who we’re looking for
• You’ll be a talented graduate with a minimum 2.2 Masters/MEng degree in a relevant degree discipline (please check each location for suitable degrees)
• You’ll have ambition, vision, enthusiasm and the drive to keep on developing your technical skills and achieve Chartered status.
• You’ll have a passion for working in a consultancy environment, you’ll want to work with customers both internally and externally and you’ll be adaptable and happy to cope with change.
• Communication and team-working will be your key skills as well as having the ability to apply your technical knowledge to analyse problems and create innovative solutions.
• You will have a flexible approach to mobility
